Justdial Limited, India’s No. 1 local search engine, has reported a year-on-year increase in searches for mental health services across India, based on an analysis comparing search volumes between February 2024 – January 2025 and February 2025 – January 2026. The data indicates rising user intent to seek professional support through counselling, therapy and psychiatric services across both metro and emerging cities.
At a national level, Counselling Services recorded the highest growth at 14%, followed by Psychiatric Services at 8% and Counselling and Therapy Centres at 5%, reflecting steady demand across independent practitioners as well as institutional setups.
City-wise data highlights sharper momentum in select markets. In the Counselling and Therapy Centres category, Kolkata registered a 102% increase, more than doubling year-on-year interest, while Delhi recorded a 48% rise. Lucknow and Surat each saw a 23% increase, with Ahmedabad (+11%), Jaipur (+10%) and Chandigarh (+7%) also reporting steady growth.
Within Counselling Services, Delhi led with a 54% increase, followed by Mumbai (+23%) and Bangalore (+22%). Chennai recorded an 8% rise.
In the Psychiatric Services category, Delhi saw a 31% increase, closely followed by Lucknow at 30%. Mumbai and Jaipur each recorded a 15% rise, while Bangalore (+12%) and Chennai (+11%) posted steady growth.
The findings indicate a measurable shift in user behaviour, with more individuals actively searching for structured mental health support across cities.
