Pune: Lok Sena, a political party, is set to field candidates on ten out of the forty-eight seats for Lok Sabha elections in the state. As per an announcement made through a press release issued in Pune on Sunday by Advocate Iliyas Ināmdār (Beed),Chief of Loksena, the organization has declared Aslam Bagwan, a social worker and founder of the Incredible Social Group, as its candidate for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency.
Aslam Bagwan, a former Congress party member, has been actively involved in various social movements through the Incredible Social Service Group. He has participated in numerous social campaigns, including initiatives focusing on ideological issues, the campaign to oppose CAA, a 1200-kilometer journey for Panchayat Raj from Pochampally, Telangana, to Wardha, Pune to Mumbai three times against Citizenship Amendment Act, for Muslim reservation, to support farmer agitation, and a bicycle rally from Pune to Delhi for fundamental rights. He has also been a vocal advocate on civic issues in the Kondhwa region.
In recognition of his social work, Lok Sena has chosen to nominate him from Pune, and further announcements regarding the names of candidates from various constituencies will be made shortly, as informed by Advocate Iliyas Ināmdār.
