Nanded : With the approval of the Pune Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, the National-Level School Netball Championship for the year 2025–26 was successfully organized in Nanded through the joint efforts of the District Sports Council, District Sports Officer’s Office, Maharashtra Netball Association, and Nanded District Netball Association.
In this prestigious tournament, Maharashtra teams across all three age groups delivered a stellar performance and clinched gold medals in every category. These three gold medals were solemnly dedicated as a heartfelt tribute to the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, honoring his lifelong contribution and love for sports.
The championship was held from 27 January to 1 February at the Shri Guru Granth Sahib Bhavan Ground, Gurdwara परिसर, Nanded. School teams from across the country participated, showcasing excellent discipline, team spirit, and sporting skills.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Monty Singh. Distinguished guests included the District Sports Officer (Nanded), SGFI Observer Jaykumar Tembhare, Maharashtra Netball Association President Satish Ingale, Taluka Sports Officer Vijay Kakade, Nanded District Netball Association Secretary Pravin Kuptikar, SGFI Area Officer Preeti, along with several sports officials and media representatives.
A Tribute Filled with Inspiration
During the valedictory function, players emotionally dedicated their gold medals to late Ajitdada Pawar, remembering his encouragement and patronage of sports. The moment conveyed a powerful message:
“Sports instill discipline, unity, and the energy required for nation-building.”
The successful hosting of this championship in Nanded has provided fresh momentum to school-level sports, while Maharashtra’s players once again proved their excellence on the national stage.
