PUNE, 17 October, 2025: Krida Prabodhini Balewadi will play Hockey Lovers Sports Academy in the final of the Junior Section in the 4th M.J Cup Memorial Hockey Tournament Men and Women 2025 at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri, on Saturday.
The tournament is being conducted under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Pune.
On Friday, Krida Prabodhini got the better of Poona Hockey Academy 2-1 in a close final. A brace of goals by Ajinkya Nikhalje (7’, 58’) helped Krida Prabodhini complete its win in the second session. Poona Hockey Academy had Ajinkya Kalbhore (58’) pull one back in the last minute of play.
In the final they play, Hockey Lovers Sports Academy who got the better of Hockey Lovers Sports Club 4-3 after playing out a 1-1 draw in regular time. Hockey Lovers Sports Club: made it 1-1 though Saurabh Patil (7’) thereafter, Hockey Lovers Academy levelled through Rahul Rasal (27’) to end the game 1-1.
In the sudden death that followed, Hockey Lovers Academy gained success through Pawan Ray, Prakash Ghumbre, Pawan Ray and Pawan Ray, later Hockey Lovers Sports Club replied through Ifaz Shaikh, Saurab Patil, Ifaz Shaikh.
For Hockey Lovers Academy, Karan Durga, Rahul Rasal, Pulkhrambam Ngokhamba failed in their attempts, while Hockey Lovers Sports Club Angeer Pratham, Nihal Goratkar, Omkar Angeer failed with their attempts.
