Vascon Engineers Collaborates with College of Engineering Pune (COEP) to Establish Centre of Excellence for Construction and Real Estate Innovation

Pune, 2026: Vascon Engineers Ltd. (VASCONEQ), one of the leading EPC & Realty players with a legacy spanning nearly four decades, has constructed the Centre of Excellence at College of Engineering Pune. The facility has been constructed within a designated area on the COEP campus, covering a total built-up area of 18,000 sq. ft.

The Centre of Excellence has been established as a platform to support research, testing, and deployment of technologies relevant to the construction, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. Part of the facility will be developed in collaboration with CREDAI. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Plumbing Lab will be set up in association with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA).

The Centre will enable live technology demonstrations, pilot projects, academic–industry workshops, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange. It will provide students, faculty, and researchers exposure to real-world applications and current industry practices, strengthening the link between academic research and on-ground implementation. The platform will also bring together developers, architects, EPC companies, engineers, consultants, academia, urban planners and government stakeholders.

The Centre will focus on areas such as sustainable and prefabricated building materials, advanced construction technologies, robotics and modular systems, smart infrastructure, energy and water management solutions, BIM and digital site tools, automation, analytics, and green building practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. R. Vasudevan, Founder & Chairman Emeritus, Vascon Engineers Ltd., said, “The Centre of Excellence at COEP reflects our long-standing association with the institution and our focus on building stronger linkages between industry and academia. Focusing on the latest technology in project execution. As construction practices evolve with greater use of technology and data, the Centre will serve as a shared space for learning, testing, and application.”

The inauguration also coincides with the 50th anniversary of the graduating batch of Mr. R. Vasudevan from COEP Technological University, marking an alumni milestone while reinforcing collaboration between the institution and industry.
