PUNE, October, 2025: Last-year’s winners Round Glass Academy and 2023 toppers were off to a rousing start running past their opponents in their respective group matches in the 9th SNBP All India (Boys Under-16) Hockey Tournament on Day-2 at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi.
On Thursday, Round Glass hammered Veer H.A 11-0 in Group-C, later Bangalore’s Army Boys Sports Company downed Kohinoor H.A 7-3 in a ten-goal game in Group-D.
Round Glass were aided by five-goals from Varinder Singh (2’, 10’, 20’, 25’, 38’) and later had Rajbhar Kunal (3’), Arjandeep Singh (13’), three goals from Arshpreet Singh (30’, 36’, 49’), and Samuel (45’) complete the huge win. Veer H.A thus became the first team to exist after suffering their second loss.
Former winners Army Boys Sports Company had it easy against Kohinoor H.A. Three-goals in the first quarter, two by Ankit Barua (4’, 13’) and one by Raman (14’) gave Army Boys a three-goal lead. Later, Arjun (48’, 53’), Manish Manjhi (52’) and Neeraj Barwa (54’) found the net. Kohinoor H.A with their backs to the wall had Nitin Kumar (29’), Kabir Singh (51’) and Sangroha Huner (52’) reduce and complete the scoreline 7-3.
In Group-A, Mumbai’s Republican Sports Club overcame an opening day loss to down Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 10-1.
In a hard-fought Group-E encounter, R.K Roy had Namjan Hemron (52’) convert a penalty-corner to down UTSC Hockey Academy and remain in contention. (Chirag Kotian 30’) opened for UTSC H.A while Vinay Kumar (33’) levelled terms.
