PUNE, October, 2025: Defending champs Round Glass will play Gumanhera Academy, while Army Boys Sports Company will take on Odisha Naval Tata Grassroots Academy for the 9th SNBP All India (Boys Under-16) Hockey Tournament on Day-2 at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi.
In a one sided game-day,the day began with Odisha Naval Tata Grassroots Academy, becoming the first team to enter the semi-finals, putting out host’s SNBP Academy with a 7-0 win. Naval Tata opened scoring through Maji Mohan (8’) and added goals though Ashik Surin (9’), Ajiub Lugun (12’, 16’), Bikash Majhi (40’, 55’) and Maji (31’). Later, the second quarter-final had Gumanhera Academy clinch a nail biting topping 6-5 against 2021 winners SAIL H.A 6-5.The victory for Gumanhera Academy was highlighted by a three-goal effort off field goals by Siddharth Raju (5’, 36’, 55’), while Later, Sushant Seharawat (33’), Jay Ravinder (43’) and Sinu Aryan 20’ got into the act of netting off field goals to complete the issue.
For, losers SAIL H.A, who finished third in 2019, a penalty-corner each by Kujur Kailesh (21’) and captain Edison Kujur (28’) helped the field goals by Dinesh Barla (16’), Sameer Ekka (36’) and Bikash Kaetha (55’).
In a mid-afternoon quarter-finalclash, 2024 winners Round Glass Academy made short-work of JAI H.A 9-0 in a on-sided affair to post a semi-final showdown. At half-time, Round Glass led 3-0 with Varinder Singh (2’, 18’) netting field goals and later in the 49th minute converted a penalty-stroke. The other goal in the first session came via Pralhad Pande (24’). Changing ends, Round Glass had Romit Pal (40’; 48’) net a brace of goals, while Arshdip Singh (35’), Arjandeep Singh (44’) and Arshpreet Singh (58) scored once to complete the tally’
In the fourth quarterfinal, last year’s runners-up Army Boys Sports Company scored a hard-fought 3-0 win over R.K Roy Academy. Both teams were locked goalless draw at the half-way stage. Army Boys scored twice in the third and fourth quarters from penalty-corners, first by Rakeshswara Rao (39’, 46’), while Prashant Aind (57’) scored the third goal,
