Krida Prabodhini top Group-A, enter SF

PUNE, 16 October, 2025: Krida Prabodhini Balewadi rolled into the semi-finals piping Champions Training Centre (CTC) Mumbai on goal difference after both played out a 1-1 draw in their Group-A (Senior Section) encounter in the 4th M.J Cup Memorial Hockey Tournament Men and Women 2025 at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri.

The tournament is being conducted under the aegis of Hockey Maharashtra and Hockey Pune.

The drawn match on Thursday helped, Krida Prabodhini Balewadi top the group after they finished level on 7 points each with Champions Training Centre Mumbai but had a better goal average of 9-2 (Goals For and Goals Against) as against 6-2 (Goals For and Goals Against) by Champions Training Centre (CTC) Mumbai.

During the game, Krida Prabodhini had Saiish Patil  (7’) score an early goal off a penalty-corner to lead 1-0 at half-time. It took Champions Training Centre (CTC) Mumbai the third quarter to level scores when Ashish Yadav (32’) netted during game-play.

In the first semi-final, Krida Prabodhini (Winners of Group-A) will play Income Tax (Runners up of Group-B), later Central Railway (Winner of Group-B) will play Champions Training Centre (CTC) Mumbai (Runners up of Group-A). The semi-finals are slated for 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm respectively on Saturday.
