Pune/Shiroda (Goa), Sept 30: Pune-based Rasayu Cancer Clinic has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gomantak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre, Shiroda, and Kamakshi Arogya Dham to provide Ayurveda-based treatment for cancer and other chronic illnesses in Goa.
The MoU was formalized on National Ayurveda Day. A special outpatient department (OPD) for cancer and chronic diseases was inaugurated at Kamakshi Arogya Dham on the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by Rasayu Lifesciences Managing Director, Dr Yogesh Bendale, Dr Vineeta Bendale, Goa Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar, Goa Council of Ayurveda chairperson Dr Sneha Bhagwat, Indian Sanskrit Prabodhini president Adv Narendra Sawaikar and Gomantak Ayurveda College principal Dr Nilesh Korde.
Speaking at the event, Dr Yogesh Bendale said the initiative was possible due to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s efforts to bring Ayurveda and modern medicine together on a single platform. “Thousands of cancer patients in Goa can now benefit from both systems of treatment under one roof. The support extended by doctors from Tata Memorial has been particularly noteworthy,” he said.
For over 25 years, Rasayu has offered Ayurveda-based therapies for chronic and long-term ailments. Under the MoU, Rasayu specialists will conduct regular consultations and treatment sessions in Goa. The collaboration also provides training opportunities for Ayurveda students and practitioners in the state, who will work under the guidance of senior doctors.
According to Dr Bendale, the initiative will help make cancer care more research-driven and accessible. “The integration of Rasayu’s clinical experience with Goa’s medicinal traditions will bring new hope to patients, while strengthening professional training for Ayurveda practitioners,” he added.
