Pune, 30 July: Dyanesh Kumar Vijkape will lead an 18-men Hockey Maharashtra squad in the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2025 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, Jordan Desmond has been named Vice Captain of the team.
The tournament will be played from 28 July to 8 August 2025.
The team was announced after a 7-day preparatory cum preparation camp at the PCMC Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar. Senior Vice President, Hockey Maharashtra and Associate Vice President, Hockey India Manoj Ghore announced the team.
Hockey Maharashtra are placed in Group-D alongside Hockey Association of Orissa and Hockey Chandigarh. Four groups of three teams each make up the draw.
Hockey Maharashtra play their first match against Hockey Association Odisha on August 1 against later take on Hockey Chandigarh on August 3.
The top two teams from each group qualify to the quarter-finals which will be played from August 5, followed by the semifinals on August 6 and finals and losing finalists on August 8.
Overall Hockey Maharashtra find themselves in Pool-A of the tournament.
