Ladki Bahin Yojana : Under the Maharashtra Government’s “Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana”, lakhs of women receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500. So far, 12 installments have been disbursed, and the installment for July is expected to be credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts within the next 2 to 3 days.
The Women and Child Development Department issued a government resolution on July 30, sanctioning ₹2,984 crore for the July installment, paving the way for prompt disbursement.
This scheme, launched in July 2024 by the MahaYuti government, has an overall budgetary provision of ₹28,290 crore.
Meanwhile, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced action against ineligible beneficiaries who have misused the scheme. An investigation has revealed that 26.34 lakh applicants were availing the benefits despite being ineligible, leading to a temporary suspension of their payments from June 2025.
These include cases of individuals receiving benefits from multiple schemes, multiple beneficiaries in a single household, and even men applying under the scheme meant for women.
Verification of these cases has been assigned to the respective district collectors. Once verified, eligible beneficiaries among them will have their benefits reinstated, Tatkare assured.
As of now, around 2.25 crore eligible women have received the June 2025 installment of the scheme.
