The caller specifically mentioned Pune Railway Station, Yerwada, and Bhosari as the intended targets. The threat triggered panic and immediate action from law enforcement agencies.

Call Received on Emergency Helpline

The police received the call around 9:15 AM on the emergency number 112. Following the alert, teams from the RPF (Railway Protection Force), GRP (Government Railway Police), Pune City Police, and bomb squads, including sniffer dogs, were dispatched to conduct thorough checks at the mentioned locations.

Woman from Ulhasnagar Under Scanner

Initial findings suggest that the call may have been made by a woman from Ulhasnagar, hinting at a possible prank. Police are now working to identify the caller and determine whether this was a mere mischief or if there was any deeper intent behind the false alarm.

Similar Incident in Mumbai Recently

Just days earlier, on May 19, Mumbai Police also received a similar bomb threat via their emergency helpline. A man named Rajeev Singh claimed to have overheard a plan to bomb the JJ Marg area. This too caused temporary panic, and bomb squads were deployed for an immediate search. No explosives were found, and the call was eventually confirmed to be false.

Strict Legal Action Against Fake Threats

Police have made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against anyone making fake bomb threats or attempting to spread panic. An FIR has already been registered in the Mumbai case, and Pune police are expected to follow suit once the caller is identified.
