Pune – In a shocking incident, a young woman from Pune has filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend for allegedly uploading a private video of her on a pornographic website after she refused his marriage proposal. The 24-year-old woman lodged the complaint at Alankar Police Station, accusing Vinay Shirish Kulkarni (27, resident of Phulewadi, Ring Road) of violating her privacy and dignity.
According to the complaint, the woman and Vinay became friends two years ago, and their friendship eventually turned into a romantic relationship. However, she later refused to marry him, after which the two lost contact.
Recently, one of the woman’s friends came across an explicit video on a porn site and recognized her in it. Shocked and distressed, the friend informed the woman, who then confirmed it was indeed her in the video. She immediately approached the police and lodged a complaint. The incident is said to have occurred between December 30, 2023, and May 12, 2025.
Police investigations revealed that while the couple was in a consensual relationship, Vinay secretly recorded their intimate moments without her knowledge. He later uploaded the video on a pornographic platform.
A case has been registered against Vinay Kulkarni under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code. Senior Police Inspector Sunita Rokade is leading the investigation. The victim is currently receiving counseling and legal support.
