Ethaan scores brace in Pune win over Ahmednagar; play Mumbai in the final

Pune won an exciting five-goal thriller against Ahmednagar to enter the final of the WIFA Inter-District Football Junior Boys Championship at Dhule, on Friday.

In the semifinal, Pune won 3-2 after staging a 0-1 comeback in the semifinal.

A brace of goals, a goal in each half by Bhanudas Chand (9′, 57′) gave Ahmednagar the lead thereafter.

Later, it was left-back Ethaan Lobo (55th) who cut the lead to (2-1). Sourja Gupta (70′) brought the game to levels (2-2).

Pune completed their win when Ethaan Lobo (73′) scored off a penalty-kick earned and made the final.

Pune now takes on Mumbai in the final. Mumbai downed Thane 5-0 in the other semifinal.

Earlier in the quarterfinals Pune downed Palghar 1-0 to book a semifinal berth.

The lone goal was netted by Rajveer Singh (26′).
