Pune, 13th October 2026: Godrej Wealth, the wealth management arm of the Godrej Industries Group, today announced its entry into Pune, marking its second location in Maharashtra after Mumbai. The expansion forms part of the company’s national growth strategy, with an ambition to reach ₹1 lakh crore in AUM and establish a presence across 35 locations by 2031.
Pune represents a distinctive and mature wealth market. With approximately ₹3.14 lakh crore in mutual fund AUM as of March 2026, Pune is India’s fourth-largest mutual fund market. The city is also home to around 22,500 millionaire households, reflecting its growing wealth base. Its strong manufacturing, automotive and engineering base is complemented by more than 500 GCCs and a growing startup ecosystem, which raised over US$450 million in 2025. Together, these sectors are creating diverse pools of wealth across established business families, entrepreneurs and globally exposed professionals.
Commenting on the expansion, Manish Shah, Non-Executive Director, Godrej Wealth and MD & CEO, Godrej Capital, said, “Across India, wealth creation is becoming broader and more diversified, extending beyond traditional financial centres into entrepreneurial and innovation-led markets. Pune captures this shift particularly well through its combination of industrial legacy, tech companies and a rapidly growing professional workforce. For the Godrej Industries Group, wealth management is a long-term business and is being built on the same principles that have shaped the Group for 129 years – trust, a deep understanding of customers and a commitment to building businesses for generations. Our expansion into Pune is another step in that journey.”
Godrej Wealth takes a people-first, rather than product-first approach to wealth management. Its team is supported by technology and proprietary capabilities, including Godrej Signals, which helps build a deeper understanding of each client, and Godrej Choice, which brings a structured approach to evaluating investment solutions from across the market through risk profiling.
On the expansion, Kunal Karnani, CEO, Godrej Wealth, added, “Pune brings together different kinds of wealth creators – from multi-generational business families and entrepreneurs to senior professionals with increasingly global careers. Each comes with different priorities, circumstances and expectations from their wealth. This requires a deeper understanding of the individual and the decisions that matter to them, rather than a product-led approach. Our work on Godrej Signals and Godrej Choice, supported through an academic collaboration with the faculty of IIT Bombay, is part of how we are building this approach. As we build in Pune, our focus will be on hiring experienced Wealth Managers, backed by technology and capabilities, to build meaningful and long-term client relationships.”
Following its entry into Delhi-NCR in September 2026, Pune marks the next step in Godrej Wealth’s national expansion journey in key wealth markets in India.
