Pune, June, 2026: EuroKids Preschool, India’s leading preschool brand, celebrated World Environment Day 2026 at its Manjri centre in Pune, engaging 80 participants with a learning initiative focused on environmental responsibility for children aged 2–6 years. Aligned with this year’s global theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate For Our Future,” the initiative aimed to demonstrate how small habits adopted in early childhood can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Through age-appropriate discussions and hands-on activities, children explored simple yet impactful practices such as conserving electricity and water, reducing plastic use, recycling household materials, planting trees, and keeping their surroundings clean. A key focus of the initiative was waste segregation, where children learned to identify dry waste, wet waste, and e-waste and understand the role proper disposal plays in protecting the environment.
The initiative reflects EuroKids’ belief that some of the most important lessons for the future are shaped in the earliest years of life. By encouraging children to consider the consequences of everyday choices and their connection to the world around them, EuroKids seeks to nurture awareness, responsibility, and a sense of stewardship that extend far beyond the classroom.
KVS Seshasai, CEO of the Pre-K Division, Lighthouse Learning (EuroKids), said, “Every generation inherits the world as it is, but it also shapes what the world becomes. The environmental challenges we face today will ultimately be solved not only through technology and policy but also through the values we nurture in our children. The early years are when habits take root, perspectives are formed, and a sense of responsibility begins to emerge. When children learn to respect resources, care for their surroundings, and understand their connection to nature, they begin developing the mindset needed to build a more sustainable future. At EuroKids, we believe environmental stewardship is not a lesson for a single day, but a lifelong value that should be cultivated from the very beginning.”
Commenting on the occasion, Ms Neha Kotwal, Partner at EuroKids-Pune-Manjri, said, “As a preschool, we have the responsibility of shaping young minds, and it is deeply rewarding to be part of a brand that believes education is as much about values as it is about learning. At EuroKids, initiatives such as World Environment Day help children understand that caring for the environment begins with simple, everyday actions. Children may not remember every lesson they are taught, but they often remember how they were taught to care. Through activities like planting seeds, conserving resources, and learning about waste segregation, we hope to nurture habits that grow alongside them for years to come. World Environment Day serves as a meaningful opportunity to instil respect, responsibility, and a lasting appreciation for the world around us.”
