:In its milestone 29th year, the Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF) awarded Merit-cum-Need Based Scholarships to over 1,500 financially disadvantaged yet deserving girls across 6 cities of India i.e. Pune, Wardha, Amravati, Nagpur in Maharashtra region and Hyderabad in Telangana and Bengaluru in Karnataka region.
For the year 2024-25, LPF provided scholarships to more than 1,200 girls pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in fields such as Engineering, Nursing and Sciences, for the entire duration of their courses, additionally, under the School Project ‘2Morrow 2Gether,’ around 300 school girls, from 7th grade through to graduation in Pune region.
The scholarship award ceremonies spanned 13 events, with scholarships conferred by LPF’s Chairperson, Mrs. Lila Poonawalla, Founder Trustee Mr. Firoz Poonawalla, Board of Trustees, Corporate Partners, Donors and Well-Wishers.
Since its inception, LPF has awarded scholarships to over 17,300 girls, creating an ever-growing community of empowered women. With its presence in Pune, Wardha, Amravati, and Nagpur in Maharashtra, as well as Hyderabad in Telangana and Bengaluru in Karnataka, the Foundation continues its transformative journey of fostering education and empowerment.
Looking ahead, in next year it celebrates three decades of transforming young lives through education and empowerment, the Lila Poonawalla Foundation remains steadfast in its mission. In this momentous 30th year, LPF is dedicated to expanding its reach, with a vision to empower 20,000 girls.
