The Bishop’s School, Loyola H.S impress, net 46 goals on day

Pune, 21st July 2023: Goals rained and ruled the day as The Bishop’s School and hosts Loyola H.S swept their oppositions respectively scoring a whopping 46 goals amongst themselves, but the highlight of the day was a 7-goal effort by Shikhar Shah among a host of individual feats in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Friday.

The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune saw The Bishops School, Camp dominate the scoring department with emphatic wins over St. Patricks H.S and managed to net a huge 36 goals. Loyola H.S, on the other hand, stood above the line against Vidya Bhavan H.S.

In the Under-12 section, Loyola H.S won 4-0 against Vidya Bhavan led by a brace by Anurag Parasnis (6th, 14^th) and a goal each by Aarav Wagale (5^th) and Shaun Angre 34th).

The Loyola H.S Under-14’s won 3-0 with a goal each from Anay Dambal (3^rd), Parth Shinde (31^st) and Param Kulkarni (41st).

However, in the Under-16 section Loyola H.S managed a solitary (1-0) win goal to get past Vidya Bhavan, the all-important goal was struck by Lavya Ashrani (34th) against Vidya Bhavan who tasted their third defeat of the day.

The afternoon session was highlighted by big scores and individual feats from The Bishops School Camp.

The Under-14 section had Shikhar Shah (11th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 28th, 30^th) star with a phenomenal scoring effort to lead his team to a landslide 15-0 win over St. Patricks H.S. Shikhar’s feat was complemented by a four-goal effort by Arjun Deshpande (1^st) who opened the scoring and added goals in the (8th, 27th, 36^th). Also adding up to the score was a three goal effort by Divyan Kaushik (24th, 25th, 35^th) and Kris Mendonca (34^th).

Other wins for The Bishops School Camp came in the Unde-16 section where they downed St. Patrick’s HS 7-0. Shravan Kudke (5^th); Raj Patil (6^th); Hallam Hart (29^th); Atharv Phadtare (30^th), Aariz Shaikh (48^th), and Aarav Sidhwani (50th, 60th) scored.

In the last win of the day came in the Under-12 section with The Bishops School, Camp netting another one-sided 14-0 win against St Patrick’s H.S.

The highlight of the game was five-goals by Dhruv Chugani (2^nd, 5^th, 8^th, 9^th, 11^th) and a three-goal feat by Dhruv Badkar (23^rd, 33^rd, 39^th).

Other scores were Hitaansh Khatri (13^th), Zidaan Akkalkotkar (15^th, 28^th), Abheer Jadhav (16^th, 40^th) and Arsalaan Shaikh (38^th).
