Overwhelming response to Malpani’s Bakelite’s Gauri Ganapati Sajawat Contest

Malpani’s Bakelite’s Gauri Ganapati Sajawat decoration contest witnessed an very good response from various districts of Maharashtra and from other states of India.

Ganesh Festival an embodiment of culture, tradition, creativity witnessed an enthusiastic contesting spirit in Ganpati Gauri Sajawat (Decoration) & Prasad contest.

In our day to day life where every individual is hustling to achieve their goals, individuals tend to compromise their family time and have a little scope to be creative.

However, with the arrival of Bappa, we observe that every professional reschedules his daily routine and makes a shift to be an artist to worship Bappa as it brings the entire family and friends together and strengthens the bonds.
Akash Rajendra Pawar from Pune (Balajinagar) was adjudged as the overall winner.

The contest witnessed huge participation form Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Kolhapur, Karad, Sangli, Satara, Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Miraj, Beed, Akola, Chandwad, Ichalkaranji, Nanded, Amravati, Solapur, Phaltan, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Akola, Alibagh and Raigad etc.

Although the contest was restricted to Maharashtra, it also saw increased participation from Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Delhi and Goa.
The judging for the contest was based on some key parameters like

Traditional Elements: Contestants used traditional designs like rangoli’s, colours, and materials to decorate their Bappa and featured a wide spread of sweet and savoury delicacies. Some of the participants have recreated various themes like Samudra Manthan, How was Ganpati named as Ekdanta etc.

Aesthetic Appeal: Some participants showcased various temples in India like Kedarnath, Sonyachi Jejuri and Dagdusheth Mandir.

Handcrafted: Majority decorative pieces were handmade, showing skill and creativity using Jute crafted paper, natural material like peanuts, Shaadu maati and various eco-friendly materials.

Uniqueness of Concept: Participants decorated their Bappa, using miniatures in their decoration, audio-visual of Shahu Palace Theatre, Commencement of Pune Metro etc.
