Mumbai, September 1: The trailer of the upcoming sci-fi film ‘Exchange: A Humazone Experience’ has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into a contemporary story centred on human emotions, relationships, experiences and meaningful connections. The film is scheduled to premiere on YouTube on September 12, 2026.
Presented as a ‘Humazone Experience’, the film explores the idea of ‘exchange’ beyond its conventional meaning. It delves into how thoughts, emotions, experiences and perspectives are exchanged between people and how these exchanges can influence relationships and shape the course of their lives.
The trailer sets the tone for an emotional and thought-provoking narrative that places the human element at its core. Through a blend of science fiction and human drama, the film seeks to examine the choices people make and the emotional connections that define them.
Speaking about the trailer launch, producer Shabbir Sabuwala said, “‘Exchange – The Humazone Experience’ is an invitation to pause, reflect and reconnect with what makes us human. We hope it sparks conversations around empathy, relationships and the choices that define us.”
Producer Rachna Vora added, “The film explores a deeply human question—what happens when we begin to exchange the very things that make us who we are? We hope its emotional and thought-provoking narrative stays with audiences long after the film ends.”
Directed by Dinesh S. Yadav, the film is produced by Shabbir Sabuwala and Rachna Vora and features Plabita Borthakur and Aroh Welankar in key roles. Classified as a science-fiction film, Exchange: A Humazone Experience aims to present a distinctive narrative combining futuristic ideas with the complexities of human relationships.
Sabuwala, an architect, entrepreneur, author, storyteller and producer, has more than two decades of experience across architecture, interior design, entrepreneurship, immersive entertainment and writing. He is the co-founder of ResQRoom, where he has been involved in creating immersive experiences that transport audiences into fictional worlds. He has also authored three books and co-produced the Marathi feature film Bol Bol Rani.
Rachna Vora is an entrepreneur, experience creator, producer and storyteller with expertise in immersive entertainment and audience-focused experiences. As co-founder and director of ResQRoom, she has been involved in developing interactive fictional worlds designed to engage audiences emotionally and intellectually. She also co-produced Bol Bol Rani.
Plabita Borthakur, an actress, singer and artist from Assam, is known for her work in Bollywood films and digital entertainment. She made her acting debut with PK in 2014 and gained recognition for her performance in Lipstick Under My Burkha. She has subsequently appeared in projects including Breathe: Into the Shadows, Bombay Begums, Waah Zindagi, Sutliyan and Escaype Live.
Aroh Welankar, a Marathi actor associated with films, theatre and television, made his Marathi film debut as the lead in Rege (2014). He has subsequently appeared in films such as Ghantaa, Te Aath Diwas, Hostel Days and Funral. He was also a participant in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 2.
Director Dinesh S. Yadav is a National Award-winning filmmaker, writer and editor. He trained in Film and Television Production at EMRC, Indore, and later specialised in film editing at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). His debut feature Turtle won the National Film Award for Best Rajasthani Film. He later directed Waah Zindagi and has worked across music videos, animation, theatre, short films, advertising and feature films.
With its unusual exploration of human connection through the lens of science fiction, Exchange: A Humazone Experience is poised to offer audiences a narrative that combines futuristic possibilities with deeply human emotions. The film will be available on YouTube from September 12, 2026.
