Pune | Despite a ‘No DJ’ decision taken by the central committee on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, loud DJ music was allegedly played in the Sassoon Hospital area, a designated silence zone, raising serious concerns over noise pollution and patient safety.

Rahul Dambale, President of the Ambedkar Jayanti Central Committee, has warned that a petition will be filed in the Bombay High Court against the police administration for alleged negligence.

According to the committee, sound levels in the area reached as high as 124 decibels, far exceeding permissible limits. The committee claimed that written complaints were submitted to the police for three consecutive days, but no preventive action was taken.

“Playing loud DJ music in a silence zone like Sassoon Hospital is a direct threat to patients’ health. The police have deliberately ignored the issue,” Dambale alleged.

Citing clear guidelines issued by the Supreme Court on noise pollution, he stated that all relevant evidence and copies of complaints would be submitted while filing a contempt petition against the authorities in the High Court.
