PUNE: The National Concrete Day & Engineers’ Day Celebration 2026 was inaugurated at Anantrao Pawar College of Engineering & Research (APCOER), Parvati, Pune, with the participation of more than 3,000 students, professional engineers, industry representatives, exhibitors, sponsors and distinguished guests from the construction and infrastructure sector.
The two-day event is being organized by the Pune RMC Association, in association with MSBTE and APCOER, under the theme “Building Sustainable India Through Concrete Innovation.”
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Mrs. Pramila Gaikwad, General Secretary, ABMSP, Pune, as the Chief Guest.
The distinguished guests included Dr. Hanumanth Dhumal, Executive Director, MKVDC, Irrigation Department, Government of Maharashtra; Dr. Sushma Kulkarni, Principal Advisor, MIT-WPU; Shri Dhairyashil Vandekar, Treasurer, ABMSP, Pune; Adv. Bhagwanrao Salunkhe, Treasurer; Shri Pradip Walhekar, President, Pune RMC Association; Er. Yusuf A. S. Inamdar, Chief Convenor of the National Concrete Day Event; and Dr. Sachin Kate, Secretary, Pune RMC Association.
Representatives from ICI, IGS, MBVA and several professional, academic and industry organizations were also present.
Major Platform for Students and Young Engineers
More than 2,000 students are participating in the celebration, giving young engineering students an opportunity to interact with industry leaders, technical experts and professionals.
The event features technical competitions, seminars, knowledge-sharing sessions and industry interactions aimed at bridging the gap between academic education and practical industry requirements.
Students are also being introduced to emerging technologies and innovations in concrete technology, construction, infrastructure, machinery, digitalization, artificial intelligence, structural engineering and safety.

Following the inaugural ceremony, the dignitaries formally inaugurated the Construction & Infrastructure Exhibition through a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event focuses on promoting sustainable, technology-driven and innovative construction practices to support India’s growing infrastructure requirements.
The organizers stated that the National Concrete Day celebration is intended not merely as an event, but as an initiative to strengthen the ecosystem for innovation, knowledge sharing, skill development and sustainable infrastructure development.
The celebration will continue on 11 September 2026, featuring technical sessions, competitions, exhibition activities, industry interactions, prize distribution and a felicitation ceremony.
