ZF Wind Power, worldwide leader in technology-driven manufacturing and a service partner in the global wind turbine gearbox industry, announced a major milestone for the Indian market: the total  production of 50 GW gearbox capacity at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, India.

This achievement  underlines ZF’s commitment to India’s renewable energy landscape, while strengthening their position as a strategic partner on the road to a sustainable future.

The 50 GW milestone is a testament to ZF’s early entry and sustained commitment to the Indian wind market. The ZF Wind Power plant at Coimbatore is the largest plant for  wind gearbox production in the world, excluding China. By establishing a key export hub and continuously investing in local capabilities, ZF plays a pivotal role in shaping India’s wind energy landscape.

Long term strategic investments in the ZF Wind Power plant in Coimbatore are dedicated to expanding its manufacturing capacity from 9 to 12 GW per year to meet the growth envisioned for the wind  market. This is coupled with the installation of a 13 MW test rig, further solidifying ZF’s position as a partner in development and validation.
